- Objetives:
- 1. To learn about the current situation of mural painting in different
parts of the world.
- 2. To know how many and which artists are involved in this art form
- 3. To analyze and discuss what would be the most suitable media to
develop and strengthen mural painting at a world-wide level.
- In order to achieve these objectives, it was taken into account that
other international meetings have covered mural painting from different
perspectives.
- As a contribution to that effort it was organized the Mural Painting
Encounter, at which it was possible the presence and participation of
artists, intellectuals, art critics, gallery curators and other people
committed with this artistic labor, from Mexico as from other parts of
the world.

- 4. A list of artists and personalities related to mural painting was
created, being this the first step towards the organization of an
international network of mural painting.
- The first ideas towards the organization of what was decided to be
called: International Forum of Mural Painting and Art were proposed.
This Forum will take place again in Mexico in October/November of the
2007. Also, a provisional Organizing Committee was named: The Mural Art
Program of Filadelfia (EUA, Jane Golden, Brian Campbell), Cité de la
Création (France, Gilbert Coudéne) and Diego Rivera Foundation (Mexico,
Diego Lopez Rivera), as well: Klaus Klinger (Germany), Desmond Rochfort
(New Zealand) and Sabine Marschall (South Africa).
